Nora asked me to pass this on:
Greetings, all, this is your friendly reminder that we'll be meeting this
coming Tuesday evening, April 22, at our regular time and place ( that's 7
p.m. at the Region 2 office of the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, if
you're joining us for the first time - directions below).
Jonathan Harwell of WNPT will be bringing a Beautiful Tennessee presentation
that focuses on the waterways of our state - be sure to join us for that,
for information on the developing plans for the statewide annual meeting we
will be hosting in October, and updates on hikes and public issues that
affect us hikers. After all that, we'll take time to socialize, get
acquainted with new folks, and enjoy some light refreshments.
How to find the meeting:
>From the intersection of Edmondson Pike with Old Hickory Blvd (at Nippers
Corner), go north 1.5 miles, then turn left into the back entrance of
Ellington Agricultural Center. Go 1/2 mile, then bear right up the hill.
TWRA is on the right. (map).
Also, Marietta Poteet has asked me to forward this information to all of you
about the volunteer opportunity this coming Saturday.
DON'T FORGET TTA WORKDAY with Friends of South Cumberland is this
Saturday, April 26.
******Slight change in schedule******
10:00 am We will still meet at the Grundy Forest Pavilion at Fiery
Gizzard railhead. We will work until about 1:00 if you can. However,
we will have a CATERED LUNCH at 1:00 pm instead of a
later dinner. We decided maybe our workers would not want to
stay all day.
1:00 pm Catered lunch
2:00 pm Wild turkey talk by Ranger Anthony and hikes into Fiery
Gizzard for those who want to stay.
Remember you do not need to bring tools, but bring a mid morning snack,
gloves, work clothes, boots and a volunteer spirit.
*** Please let me know if you can attend by Thursday noon so we can
decide how much food we need to buy. I thank everyone who has said they
want to attend.
*** If it is raining the morning of the workday, we will cancel.
Cheers,
Nora Beck. Nashville chapter officer, Tennessee Trails Association
Jim, I don't want to continue to be a pain about this - if you would let me
know what I need to change to make this work I will gladly do it!! Anyhow,
thank you one more time, and I hope to see you and Jenice tomorrow evening.
Yours, NB
