Hello, everyone, this is a reminder that we'll be gathering for our monthly meeting Tuesday evening, August 26, at our regular time of 7 p.m.  After a brief business meeting, Elizabeth Gerlock will tell us about adventures in Morocco, where she and Alice Cannon travelled last fall.  We'll get updates on the annual meeting we're hosting in October, and after all that we'll gather for refreshments and time to get acquainted with new members.  

If you haven't met with us before, we meet at the REgion II headquarters of the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency on the Ellington Agricultural Center campus. Here's how to find us from Edmonson Pike.
DIRECTIONS: From the intersection of Edmondson Pike with Old Hickory Blvd (at Nippers Corner), go north 1.5 miles, then turn left into the back entrance of Ellington Agricultural Center. Go 1/2 mile, then bear right up the hill. TWRA is on the right. (map).

Next month's program:  Todd Crabtree, botanist with the Tennessee Division of Natural Areas, will help us identify those mystifying flowers and ferns we see along Tennessee's trails.  Bring photos of finds that have baffled you, and we'll get our heads together to figure them out.  We'll have wildflower books there, and Todd will give us some tips on how to use them effectively - just in time to learn about the goldenrods, asters and liatris that color the Tennessee landscape in the fall.
