photos of them)! Botanist Todd Crabtree, of the state's Division of
Natural Areas, will be with us to help us identify the flowers and ferns (and
maybe a few other growing things) we see along the trails. We'll have
several wildflower and fern guides on hand and he will give us tips on how to
put these guides to good use.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>SATURDAY PLANS?? <FONT size=3>Sept. 27 at
Montgomery Bell State Park in Burns, TN, an event is planned that is right up
your alley. Brandon Puttbrese of Get Fit Tennessee (a state program under a wing
of the Tenn. Dept. of Health) has told us that Montgomery Bell will be
celebrating National Public Lands Day by promoting the park's 19 miles of
hiking trails, 20 miles of mountain bike trails, and the lake's many
recreational opportunities. They'll also be doing a
clean-up. </FONT></FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2><FONT size=3></FONT></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial><FONT size=2><FONT> We have an opportunity to
have the TTA display there if some people can be found to populate
it. (I will have to be out of town - the organization I work for, the
Tennessee Parks and Greenways Foundation, has a major land dedication on
Saturday and that is where I will need to be.) I will have the display
with me at the meeting, and hope to find some willing folks to represent us at
this event. <BR><BR>Get Fit will be there alongside the
