November 15 is a very important date for the TTA and our relationship
with the Tennessee State Parks. Randy Hedgepath, State Naturalist, will
be leading a nature hike/trail maintenance event at Edgar Evins State
Park. We will be doing light trail work while Randy points out the flora
and fauna that are prevalent in late fall/early winter. If you would
like to learn more about nature in this season and also help our trails,
this is a wonderful opportunity to do both. We will start at 9:00 am and
be back by 3:00 pm. Bring a lunch and plenty of water. Dress according
to weather conditions. Wear sturdy footwear and bring work gloves. Tools
will be furnished, but if you have a favorite tool you may bring your
own. This is a wonderful opportunity for TTA and State Parks to form a
cooperation that will benefit both. Please make an effort to come out
and enjoy the day and also help with a project improving our trails. If
there is a substantial participation, the Friends of Edgar Evins State
Park will host a cook-out after the event. Please contact Fount Bertram
at 615-765-5357 or fwbertram at dtccom.net if you are planning to be there.
